A fresh voice has recently joined forces with Timmion's house band Cold Diamond & Mink: Franka Oroza, a Helsinki-based singer-songwriter whose music is a vibrant fusion of global influences.
Raised in a household steeped in South American rhythms, she draws from a wide range of folk, jazz, neosoul, and electronic influences. Voices from Brazilian legends like Caetano Veloso through Joni Mitchell to neo soul artists like Lauryn Hill can be heard in Franka's musical approach. Franka's musical journey began early, composing songs already in high school. Since then she performed extensively with groups in singer-songwriter clubs in Helsinki before embarking on a solo career while living in Copenhagen for several years. Her Finnish-language music, rich in acoustic textures and harmonies, culminated in a self- produced album in 2010.
Beyond music, Franka is an architect entrepreneur, paralleling her creative process by focusing on sustainable construction. Collaborating with Cold Diamond & Mink Franka has discovered a new folk-infused soul sound. She gets to blend her diverse influences into captivating song-form storytelling inspired by fleeting melodies, emotions lived, and the tranquil whispers of nature. Her debut single with CD&M "Indecision" is released on Timmion Records in 2024, and is the first stop on their joint path. Only good things can be promised further down the road.
