Free Bondz

Free Bondz is a pop/rap artist based in Paterson, New Jersey. Growing up in New Jersey, Free Bondz always wanted to do music. Paterson was not an easy place to live; she grew up in heavy poverty and saw a lot of bad things happen around her. Naturally, music became a way for Free Bondz to escape the pain and heartbreak she dealt with on a daily basis.
Free Bondz is especially inspired by her mother, who always believed in her and told her she would be something great in life, despite the obstacles standing in her way. When her mother saw her passion and drive to do music, she brought Free Bondz to the studio, since at the time in 2016, she was managing another artist under her own label and had the resources and know-how to help Free Bondz in her career. From there, Free Bondz started getting in the studio and creating; with her mother’s guidance, she recorded her first song.
Tragedy struck for Free Bondz and her family when her mother was killed due to gun violence. Since then, Free Bondz has held on to her music to cope. She recently recorded a song dedicated to her mom and is now working on an album in honor of her mother, Petra Rhoden.
Free Bondz’s main influences include Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel, Frank Ocean, and Fantasia; she admires their talent and strives to emulate how they use their music to voice their pain and express a strong message.
Free Bondz has gained wide recognition for her talent and has even worked with renowned rapper Fetty Wap.
