This NY 2-person powerhouse of sound create their own distinct blend of post-punk, with elements of darkwave & goth rock with electro-acoustic hybrid guitars, loop pedals, fiery live acoustic & electronic percussion & synths. Part of the alternative underground scene since 2005, their relentless touring, which has amounted to nearly 1500 shows, has brought them around the US, Canada, Europe & West Africa.
French-born singer, keyboardist/ percussionist, Samantha Stephenson, hails from a dance/art background having studied ballet, modern & hip hop & sculpture. Guitarist Scott Helland; the American Hardcore Punk scene of the 80’s. Helland was a founding member & bassist of legendary band Deep Wound that he formed w/ J Mascis & Lou Barlow (Dinosaur jr.) He was also in Outpatients & School of Violence throughout the 80’s - 90’s.
Drawing inspiration from post-punk legends like The Cure, upbeat energy & percussive textures of Adam and the Ants, bewitching mystique of Siouxsie and the Banshees, & the quirky charm of The B-52's, FnP have crafted a sound that is both nostalgic & refreshing delivered in an unorthodox way.
