Fröst is a collaboration between French-Swedish sound artist Johanna Bramli (vocalist for Stereolab offshoot Imitation Electric Piano) and Fujiya & Miyagi’s synth player and producer Steve Lewis. Together they blend hypnotic radiophonics and repetition into neatly wrapped pop structures. Motorik, angular and electronic; Fröst will appeal to fans of Broadcast, Silver Apples and Kraftwerk.
The duo has previously released two singles and a debut E.P. The debut single ‘Crackling on the Wire’ (December 2016) received strong radio support from the likes of Edith Bowman who made the track her ‘Record of the Week’, with plays also from Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Nemone and Gideon Coe (BBC 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X). This was followed by the release of second single ‘Keratin’ (March 2017) and Fröst’s debut E.P. of the same name (May 2017) which garnered coverage on tastemaker music press such as The Line of Best Fit, Electronic North and Gigwise (among others).
