Fuzzy Nautilus is a progressive, psychedelic, and alternative rock project that bridges the gap between intricate musicianship and raw, alternative energy. Originally born in the South East London music scene in 2013, the project was founded by composer and multi-instrumentalist Samuele Matteucci.
The project’s early years were marked by rapid momentum. After assembling a lineup of London-based musicians, the band released their debut EP, Antenna, in 2014. Their complex arrangements and high-energy live sets quickly earned them a spot at the Resonance Rock Festival and a prestigious "Limelight" feature in Prog Magazine (2015), where they were recognized as a rising name in the genre.
After a decade-long hiatus, Fuzzy Nautilus has re-emerged in 2025 as a focused studio-led endeavor. Now based in Italy, Matteucci has returned to his creative roots, shaping new material and archival recordings.
The first taste of this new era is the double-single release "Santa Won’t Come" / "Supermarket Delight." While the former offers a dark take on the holiday season, the B-side, "Supermarket Delight," showcases the project’s signature blend of heavy riffs and psychedelic textures. This release sets the path to a full-length album currently in production and slated for a 2026 release.
While currently a studio-focused endeavor, the ultimate vision for Fuzzy Nautilus includes a return to the stage with a full live ensemble to bring these expansive new arrangements to life
