G King Castillo
A Hopkins village native who migrated from Belize to the United States at a very young age. He resided in Los Angeles, California, for a while, then later relocated to the place famously known as the Big Apple ( New York City). While there, he stayed in touch with his Garifuna roots by participating in a cultural dance group called Ilagule, where children were taught to embrace their culture and speak their language proudly. He is presently an established and registered Garifuna Singer-songwriter and recording artist while actively serving in the US Armed Forces, with a catalog of 26 songs streaming across all music streaming platforms globally. A few artists he has featured songs with are Clayton C wills Williams, Sheldon Petillo, method Brown, Bwoi Lewis, and a few others Since embarking on his musical career. His goals have been to help preserve and promote the Garifuna culture by consistently singing in his native tongue and using his voice as an instrument to increase awareness throughout the Garifuna communities.
