Garet Camella is a midwest-born, LA-based solo artist and multi-instrumentalist.
After nearly a decade writing and touring in indie rock band <a href="spotify:artist:27v7l7oREdKQzvONWiEBTv" data-name="Indigo Wild">Indigo Wild</a>—playing stages alongside <a href="spotify:artist:2xaAOVImG2O6lURwqperlD" data-name="Catfish and the Bottlemen">Catfish and the Bottlemen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0YhUSm86okLWldQVwJkLlP" data-name="Bad Suns">Bad Suns</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4fw9oPmbbmHW5aAJpkJdlI" data-name="Margot & The Nuclear So And So's">Margot & The Nuclear So And So's</a>, landing slots on <a href="spotify:artist:1j8QyWpOJKAe6Iw2KvEg2j" data-name="Audiotree">Audiotree</a> and festivals next to <a href="spotify:artist:5INjqkS1o8h1imAzPqGZBb" data-name="Tame Impala">Tame Impala</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7mnBLXK823vNxN3UWB7Gfz" data-name="The Black Keys">The Black Keys</a>—Garet returns to where it all started: writing solo, producing from scratch, and collaborating with dear friends along the way.
His 2024 full-length Mont Michel Archives is a time capsule opened—a raw and fragmented 14-track collection of old demos, unfinished thoughts, and almost-lost ideas, finally given space to breathe. Stand out track Blinders is a laid back, shimmery bop that finds itself somewhere between <a href="spotify:artist:4LG4Bs1Gadht7TCrMytQUO" data-name="The Shins">The Shins</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2YKp8Odp8GGbAkVU60Yk2Y" data-name="Coconut Records">Coconut Records</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7DjwIxbe8kpw4pqnzAMoin" data-name="The Beths">The Beths</a>. Its splashy drums, breezy guitar licks, and candid lyrics add up to a sun-faded anthem about moving on. Additionally, Camella’s covers of <a href="spotify:artist:1Z2KInfSmPOzAIYyiaXeti" data-name="Youth Lagoon">Youth Lagoon</a>'s 17 and <a href="spotify:artist:74ASZWbe4lXaubB36ztrGX" data-name="Bob Dylan">Bob Dylan</a>'s It Ain’t Me Babe offer intimate, late-night reinterpretations from his bedroom studio.
Based in Los Angeles since Spring of 2025, Camella (who documented the whole trip via a diy travel vlog) brings a sense of rediscovery with him. His sound is nostalgic, reflective, layered, and subtly anthemic, which feels right at home in a city built on reinvention. With a forthcoming single and a full EP on the way, Camella is stepping into the LA scene as a freshman, but with his sights set on varsity.
