Born into a musical family in Drogheda, Ireland, Gav Healy began playing guitar and performing even before his teens. Over the years, Healy's path led him from forming a rock band in Australia to becoming a beloved figure in folk rock with his family band, The Healys, and finally carving out a solo career that beautifully blends his Irish roots with rock influences.

Healy’s latest release, Unearthed Tapes Vol: I, II, & III, invites listeners to step back in time. This triple album, recorded between 1996 and 2006, features tracks that sat quietly on cassette tapes for over 20 years, waiting to be revisited. In an age where AI often produces flawless music, Healy celebrates the beauty of rawness and imperfection, embracing the very human sound of his younger self. Revisiting these tapes has been a journey back to a time when he strove for perfection, but now he sees beauty in the flaws, the heartfelt emotion, and the sincerity in each song.

Unearthed Tapes covers a range of emotions, from love and anger to joy and sadness, as well as whimsical musings on aliens and self-reflection. Set for release on December 3, 2024, this project is a musical time capsule for fans who cherish unpolished intimacy, reminiscent of Iron & Wine’s The Creek Drank the Cradle, Kurt Cobain’s Montage of Heck, and Jeff Buckley’s Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk.
