Montreal-born Haitian-Canadian artist based in Lisbon. Making jazzy-house with Brazilian spices so you can make out with your crush. Highly influenced by the beat scene of 2007-2018 and the broken break / bruk movement in West London. She released her debut LP ''Mascarade'' on Rhythm Section INL and was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize. Laurent Garnier says''ELEGANT ALBUM'', played by Jamz Supernova and Gilles Peterson on BB6 Radio 6. Listed in DJ Mag's best album 2023. Gayance (real name Aïsha Vertus) takes her alias from the Haitian Creole word for joyfulness. Born / raised in Montreal, 1st generation Haitian descent she’s been DJing since the past decade and has been tearing down Dekmantel, Lowlands Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, POP Montreal, HORST Festival, Maracujalia Festival, WE OUT HERE, Polifonic Festival and Milkshake Festival. Places like Fabric London, Panorama Bar, Djoon Paris, Doka Amsterdam and Jazz Cafe London just to name these few. She hosted Boiler Room 2 times the charm and play once. Gayance can light up the biggest room just with her emcee skills, encent and her DJ selection.
