Growing up in the hills of northern England, beauty & contemplative spaces always surrounded her, and shaped her throughout her childhood.
“‘Haven’ was recorded where I grew up. To me, each song tells a story of the discovery of love and safety I’ve found to be available, a presence that has been a refuge to me in every season. These songs are kind of poems and prayers that I penned over the years and put music to, as I would sing my way through them.”
Her musical journey has taken her to different spaces, namely gigs in different entertainment spaces, as well as churches and houses of prayer. Nowadays, she enjoys creating rhythms of rest, prayer and contemplation through music.
Whatever the style or expression, her hope is that her music, or indeed anything else in her life, would provide a sense of beauty, connection & faith for those who hear them to escape into.
