Trumpet. beats. grungy alternative jazz. composer. producer. synths. recycled art. Chicago. Trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist Gerald Bailey leads several projects that combine acoustic and electronic sounds.
His solo LP Migration Climate was released on Potions Music New York in 2023.
About Migration Climate:
“As a multi-instrumentalist, Gerald set out to make a record in isolation, reorganizing established sounds and beats into bedroom jazz. Conceptually following the themes of migration, social evolution, upheaval, and positive change, he created layers of overdubbed trumpet, flugabone, drums, and keyboards, utilizing a basic recording setup.”
"It touches on bits of jazz and twists them to a modern approach, heavily influenced by hip hop and acid jazz and trip hop from the 90's.”
Gerald has played with notable acts such as Belle and Sebastian, Kevin Morby, Father John Misty, Ty Segall, Syl Johnson, Harry James Brenner and Renaldo Domino.
