Ghostlimb formed as a two-piece in 2005 in Southern California, but soon morphed into a three-piece destruction unit in 2006. Connected to several bands under the banner of Vitriol Records (Graf Orlock, Dangers, Forming, etc.), this band represents a direct response to radical nihilism of brainless hardcore and scene drudgery. At the time of its inception and realistically in every time frame in which this band has existed, it have been at odds with prevailing musical trends in favor of focusing on history, politics, urban theory, ecology and the like, while sticking to the heavy and more well-rounded musicality that has careened increasingly in a metallic direction. With edition of Alex McLeod on drums in 2010, the band on some small level achieved the sound it had sought since the beginning. Stylistically, the output then ventured in new and complex directions. The majority of everything the band has released was under their own label Vitriol Records and occasional forays into projects with friends and collaborators. Releases include: “Ghostlimb” LP 2006, "Bearing and Distance" LP 2008, Ghostlimb/Fischer split 10" 2009, "Infrastructure" LP 2011, "Confluence" LP 2012, "Difficult Loves" LP 2016, and most recent release “The Only Measure is Labor Done Not Days” LP 2019.
