A wandering Giammarco Orsini first felt the pull of the record shop at 14, and the experience instantly turned him into a passionate collector. Now, as an international performing artist, Orsini uses his decades-deep archive to generate a chemistry that is comfortably nostalgic yet fresh in its relevance. The same curiosity and drive that fills Orsini’s crates can also be heard in the experimental visage of his productions, as well as in his selections as A&R for Heko Records. Notable releases thus far include Partisan EPs Regression Progression (2019) and Game of Chance (2017), white label 0410 on The Double R (2018), Elephant Moon EPs Wider Perspective (2018) and To the Moon Phase I (2016), the Experiment Learning EPs on his own Heko Records (2015, Part 2 in 2016). Giammarco’s career as DJ and producer took off during a pivotal six-year residency at Pescara’s Zu::Bar, inevitably leading him to the global center of artistic expression, Berlin. These days, he can be found at venues such as Club der Visionäre and Watergate in Germany, VBX in Amsterdam, during Sonar OFF in Barcelona, or back in his native country playing at legendary Goa Club. A true ambassador of music, Giammarco Orsini continues to be both avid student and insightful teacher, making every set and release a timeless impression.
