Born in 1981 in Lassithi, Crete, Giannis Haroulis "indulged" into the field of music by the age of 6, when his father taught him how to play the mandolin. The starting point of his music education was Cretan traditional music.
He performed in Athens for the first time in 2002, as a guest of Christos Thivaios in a concert dedicated to Nikos Xylouris, at the Lycabettus Theater. A year later, he released his first solo album entitled "Giro mou kai entos" ("Around me and inside"). His next release is the album entitled "Cheimonanthos" ("Winter Flower"), in November 2006.
The Gold Record Award for his third album "Magganies", in songs by Thanasis Papakonstantinou, comes to emblem his musical career. During the same year he participates as one of the main performers in "Filaksa to oneiro" ("I kept the dream") by Mikis Theodorakis, along with Alkinoos Ioannidis, Socrates Malamas and Maria Farantouri.
In February 2015, the double album entitled "Chilia kalos esmiksame" ("Lips well met") is placed in Number 1 of the Greek Music Charts (IFPI).
In November 2016 he releases the album "O Dodekalogos tou Gyftou". The album consists of 12 melodic excerpts from the work of the same titled piece by Kostis Palamas.
Giannis Haroulis counts appearances in music scenes and concerts throughout Greece, as well as in Europe and Australia.
As himself has emphasized, it is the people who lead him and give him the strength to continue, even in difficult times.
