Pyx Lax

<a href="spotify:artist:0UHy12S8f94Sa0jc4dd6Jz" data-name="Pyx Lax">Pyx Lax</a> are widely considered the most influential and commercially successful rock band in Greek music history. Formed in Athens in 1988 by <a href="spotify:artist:4UivkNzFA9XPTr0coJ3x0y" data-name="Filippos Pliatsikas">Filippos Pliatsikas</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:77irFxLoxDu0DkBWf8mK0i" data-name="Babis Stokas">Babis Stokas</a>, Sakis Stamoulis, and Panayiotis Spyropoulos, the band began their career with a demo cassette that caught the attention of record labels and producer <a href="spotify:artist:3ZXZ4xvQQ6WQGPqhDWViX9" data-name="Manos Xydous">Manos Xydous</a>, who soon joined the group. Their debut album, <a href="spotify:album:4GJNYC2PLnfzI59gEdmexT" data-name="Ti Allo Na Pis Pio Apla">Ti Allo Na Pis Pio Apla</a>, laid the foundation for their fusion of rock, entechno, and traditional Greek elements.

Their breakthrough came with 1993’s O <a href="spotify:album:0iIkJxaLfPrXXPZ6NpViYL" data-name="O Ilios Tou Himona Me Melagholi">O Ilios Tou Himona Me Melagholi</a>, and they confirmed their status with <a href="spotify:album:2XFTiUAEpkMDZhZBAGRkeS" data-name="Gia Tous Prigipes Tis Ditikis Ohthis">Gia Tous Prigipes Tis Ditikis Ohthis</a>, an ode to the working-class neighborhoods of western Athens, followed by a string of successful albums, earning gold and platinum records.

Known for hits like <a href="spotify:track:31c959mKXjNREbgI9B045Z" data-name="Den Tha Dakriso Pia Gia Sena">Den Tha Dakriso Pia Gia Sena</a> and <a href="spotify:track:2LiFFoxPWHeuFBUq4DZAwF" data-name="Monaxia Mou Ola, Monaxia Mou Tipota">Monaxia Mou Ola, Monaxia Mou Tipota</a>, the band also collaborated with <a href="spotify:artist:0Ty63ceoRnnJKVEYP0VQpk" data-name="Sting">Sting</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3miNucraVWk4hdVsIxn7id" data-name="Eric Burdon">Eric Burdon</a>, among others. Their final pre-breakup album, <a href="spotify:album:1ZtBNW7OGREAStEM3dM6df" data-name="Haroumeni Stin Poli Ton Trelon">Haroumeni Stin Poli Ton Trelon</a>, marked an experimental peak.

They disbanded in 2004 but reunited in 2011 for a national tour in memory of <a href="spotify:artist:3ZXZ4xvQQ6WQGPqhDWViX9" data-name="Manos Xydous">Manos Xydous</a>, performing for over 85,000 in Athens and 50,000 in Thessaloniki. In 2018, they reunited permanently and are currently signed to Stay Independent, through which they released their latest album, <a href="spotify:album:4kLqoqs0hWvj9dIfalh9HP" data-name="Ligo Xroma Gia Ta Skoura">Ligo Xroma Gia Ta Skoura</a>. The album received strong audience reception, proving that they have remained a beloved and timeless band for over three decades.
