Sacramento, CA's Giant Squid debuted in 2005 with a self-released CD entitled Metridium Field, which was produced by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Melvins, High on Fire, etc.) and attracted the attention of The End Records with its unconventional combination of doom, indie, progressive, and psychedelic rock. So much so that the label agreed to let the recently relocated (to Austin, TX) and revamped band -- featuring husband and wife team Aaron Gregory (vocals, guitar, banjo, theremin) and Aurielle Gregory (vocals, guitar, keyboards), plus Bryan Beeson (bass) and Michael Conroy (drums) -- re-record the album almost from scratch for worldwide release in 2006 as Metridium Fields. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
