Gisela Horat

Gisela started her career with a traditional classic piano education. She developed over this period the desire to write and play her own music.
She laid the necessary foundations with lessons and classes from different Jazz pianists (A. Herrmann, E. Bächlin, Ch. Wiesendanger, M. Scarton), additional lessons in aural training, rhythmic and music theory. She also acquainted to other instruments (Saxophone, Conga) to broaden her horizon.
You could enjoy listening to her music with her old piano trio with Andy Zitz (bass) and Marc Staempfli (drums), in a duo with Maria Geiger (violin) and other projects. Band members of the trio since 2015 are Gisela Horat on piano, Samuel Büttiker on drums and Simon Iten on bass.

Since two years Gisela also plays piano solo concerts. Parts of her program can be listened on the CD “Verkehrte Welt”. In concert she plays two stories. The one of her favourite ballads which tells a lot about circumstances, events and feelings and the other on the presence. Rest and relaxation take on tension and groove. The result is an inverted world in itself.
