I'm Giulliana Merello, a professional drummer and composer with 18 years of experience in the music industry. I lead two projects: Back to Back Beat, a drumming duo with Helen De La Rosa that blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms, funk, and experimental grooves; and my solo project, which will debut in 2025 with the album “MIM (More is More)”.
I’ve performed with internationally acclaimed artists such as Concha Buika, Karol G, and Camila Cabello, appearing at major festivals and venues across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Japan.
Since 2020, I’ve toured with Karol G in three world tours, playing over 150 shows in 18 countries. We’ve performed at the Latin Grammy Awards, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Billboard Awards, YouTube Originals, Tiny Desk (twice), Saturday Night Live, and The Today Show.
In 2022, I was featured on the cover of Modern Drummer magazine and performed for a week on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. That same year, I was nominated for the Drumeo Awards, winning “Drummer of the Year” in the R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop category in 2023.
I’ve toured the U.S. seven times, sharing stages with Gary Numan, SIAMÉS, Larry Braggs, Me Not You, Computer Magic, and Brian Ray. I’ve also performed extensively across Japan.
I proudly endorse Gretsch Drums, Earthworks Mics, Vic Firth, Zildjian, Gewa, and 64 Audio, with whom I’ve led masterclasses and produced educational content on YouTube.
