In recent years, GIVER have not only refined their hardcore sound to be more brutal and atmospheric with elements of metal and post-punk, but also thematically, it's clear that their new album serves as an even more drastic political manifesto. Class struggle, culture wars, the climate crisis, and their societal implications and consequences are central themes on The Future Holds Nothing But Confrontation.
Talking about the context and setting of the new album, the band explains: "We wrote this album at a time when fewer and fewer people are looking at the future with hope. We asked ourselves how we can counteract a development that places responsibility for all social injustices on the shoulders of the individual leading to depression and hatred for those who have to fight even harder to get through the day. There need to be new social bonds that can stand up to exploitation and injustice together. Nothing in the world has to go right for there to be hope. Hope is not an attitude, but manifests itself through constant struggle and confrontation with the world."
