Since first materializing on the New Brunswick basement scene in early 2014, Glazer has been consistently releasing music through analog and digital formats. Blending razor-sharp guitar rock with pounding, rhythmic support, Glazer is in constant evolution. Sonically and lyrically, their style ranges from acutely abstract, delightfully bleak, and blisteringly loud. They were welcomed by long-time pals at State Champion Records to release their debut full length LP "On A Prairie, Live in The Dirt" in 2017, as well as a 7" split with label mates Spowder. 2020 brought two releases for the group, "Bait/Couch Cooking" flexi-disc 8" on New York's Dromedary Records, and a compilation of B-sides, demos, and unreleased material titled "Psychedelic Science Center."
In 2020, Glazer loaded up the tape machine, rented a cabin in the woods of a distant land, and tracked night and day over a long weekend. The result: the latest six song ‘Civilian Whiplash’ EP. Recorded straight to cassette, the tape embodies the familiar frenetic and lo-fi sounds that have defined Glazer over the years. A more collaborative effort than those of the past, each member contributed songs, additional instrumentation, and vocals to give ‘Civilian Whiplash’ its rightful place in the band’s mounting eclectic catalog.
In a world where art is constantly being produced and cheapened for the masses, Glazer have remained true to themselves through and through.
