Singer/guitarist Glenn Lyse hit the top of the charts in 2007 with his debut single, "Days Go By," after rising to fame on the Norwegian television talent show Idol 2007. Born April 4, 1974, in Stavanger, Norway, he was offered a major-label recording contract with Sony BMG upon finishing the fifth season of Idol 2007 as the show's first-place winner. Meanwhile, his debut single, "Days Go By," entered the Norwegian singles chart at number one during the final week of 2007. A few months later, Lyse made his full-length album debut with Come Closer (2008), an English-language effort that reached the Top Ten and spawned the follow-up hit single "Guilty." ~ Jason Birchmeier
