As the nephew of Lee Andrews from “Lee Andrews and the Hearts” and his cousin Ahmir Thompson AKA Questlove, Gliss knew at a young age which direction he would take. Gliss received his rap name from his Brother Ali’s rap book. Ali overheard him reciting lyrics that he had written for a song and loved it. The name stuck; however, Ali would influence Gliss to find his own style and sound. He began his focus on lyrical word play and great hooks, which established him as a great upcoming artist in Philadelphia and beyond.
