Golden Idols

Golden Idols is a 4-piece surf pop band from Seattle, Washington, USA. Patrick Broz (also of <a href="spotify:artist:6S5jInrg6hDnrHaJClMfjl" data-name="Awfully Sudden">Awfully Sudden</a>) brought the band together in the summer of 2014. The lineup currently consists of Broz (guitar/lead vocal), Jewel Loree (bass), Eric Peterson (guitar/keys), and Saba Samakar (drums). Their debut self-titled EP, released August 2015, was described by Northwest Music Scene as &quot;dreamy, it’s romantic, it’s warm, it’s psychedelic (to an extent), is also the perfect soundtrack to a hot summer to remember.&quot; Their full length album, Holy Smokes!, was recorded with Johnny Goss (<a href="spotify:artist:6epN4Ft6y74g1fsF6z0e77" data-name="Cock and Swan">Cock and Swan</a>) and hailed as &quot;thoughtful, punchy, mystical and ripped with energy&quot; by The Monarch Review.

Golden Idols writes songs that tell the stories we all experience, but never see in movies or hear on pop radio; they aren’t interested in the one in a million, love at first sight scenario, opting instead to tell the stories of a relationship that slowly fades into resentment or never begins because of a fear of making a move. Golden Idols tells stories that are often darkly humorous, and layer them with music, so deceptively positive, the listener can experience the music on several levels and in different ways, depending on their mood.
