Gomer Edwin Evans was born in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, on September 24, 1947. He studied classical guitar and music theory at Cardiff Castle Music College in Wales. Because of the range of his instrumental abilities (Evans plays classical, electric, acoustic guitar, piano, accordion, synthesizer, bass, flute and pan flute) he very soon became a sought-after studio musician. Preferring to play his own music, he formed his own band and toured the U.S. in the early 1980s with his own folk program. In New York he began to work on compositions for mental relaxation. In collaboration with renowned psychologists from Great Britain and Germany, he developed his own personal musical style: music for body, mind and soul. Gomer Edwin Evans is one of the world's best composers of high quality meditation and relaxation music.
