Forming to play in a kitchen for a friends 18th birthday party, Goodwin are a five-piece band fresh out of high school. Inspired by acts such as The Strokes, The Smiths, The Lemonheads, and New Order, the indie-rock quintet have been sharing their music with crowds all across Melbourne since their inception in May of 2024.
Having entered one of Melbourne's most renowned and celebrated recording studios in late 2024, the group kicked of their studio career. Recorded at Head Gap by highly regarded producer and engineer Finn Keane and mastered by Lachlan Carrick at Moose Mastering, Goodwin released their debut single 'Trampoline' in November of 2024.
The track touches on the beauty and innocence of childhood, as well as the difficulties and complexities of growing up and navigating an entirely new social landscape. The central message of 'Trampoline' involves the longing to return to an earlier and less complicated period of time, before the pressure to party, be percieved as popular, and impress others were all relevant.
