Grace Inspace Garner has always led a nomadic existence, LA born and London bred, she
bounced from place to place with her itinerant, artist parents. In keeping with wanderlust childhood, Grace’s debut EP “Sunshine Kid” was spawned in an airstream on the banks of a river in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods where she lived for several years in the secluded wilds amongst weed farmers, forest rangers and black bears.
Each song on the EP plays out the story of a different character that Grace is acting out; “Last
Girl” is an apocalyptic tale of the only girl left on planet earth, “Good Days” is a witch crafting a
spell for the mundane beauty of an endless Good Day and the titular track “Sunshine Kid” is a
creature made of pure sunshine feeling the irony of sadness. This process of songwriting
creates a unique sound, where lyrics are paramount and the soundscapes draw from a collage
of genres; blending rock, pop and journalism to create a world filled with fantasy and satire.
