A collaboration between top-flight dance producers Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne with vocalist Dominique Atkins, Grace came together when Oakenfold and Osborne decided to look for a singer unexperienced in the dance scene for their new project. Though their discovery met their prerequisite, she was in fact a jazz singer who had been performing since the age of 13, when her jazz trumpeter father began taking her to clubs around their home in Thornton Heath, London. The trio began working together and emerged with the single "Not Over Yet," a U.K. club hit for Oakenfold's Perfecto Records. Grace's debut album, If I Could Fly, appeared late in 1996. Gathering in the Wheat followed two years later. ~ John Bush, Rovi
