Under the influence of heavy riffs and desert rock classics, Grand Chief have been conjuring their reign of groove and fuzz since 2017. After starting as stoner rock cover band, the group shortly moved on to writing their own material. Original setlists comprised tunes of Black Sabbath, Fu Manchu, Dozer and Karma to Burn to name a few. These influences are clearly audible - yet Grand Chief deliver their own formula in the mix.
Their debut single Ghost Convoy was released in April 2020. Keeping true to their live music approach it was recorded as live setup and everybody in the same room, added with a couple vocal takes on top. The quartet has their focus on organic beat and band dynamics without backing tracks or other new-age trickery. Tube amps, drums and the chiefs together in the same space as on a club stage.
