The origins and traditions of #Bluegrass music hail from the hills of Appalachia. Family & friends gathered and laughed, sang & danced to songs of God, love, myths, moonshine & hard times. Grasstime® is on a mission to keep this music alive. In 2025, these kindred spirits continue to gather and introduce those traditions to fans around the globe.
Same as long ago, when times are tough, music helps get us through the day. We know we aren't alone and hope that we might have made a moment in your journey a little better.
Through common bonds, the members of Grasstime® found each other in this big world. We're known for rich harmonies and traditional, hard-driving #bluegrass. Each performance is filled with high energy, traditional, contemporary, and jamming bluegrass music fun.

Ellie Hakanson- fiddle, vocals
Alan Sanders- banjo

Dark Horse Recording in Nashville, TN awarded a fan-popular recording package in 2016. 50 bands competed, and fans voted for monthly & grand prizes. The fans spoke, and Grasstime won the Stable Sessions recording contest! Grasstime® debut CD was released in June 2017.
We are slow to blossom, and in 2024, our first tune hit streaming services. Grasstime signed with New Day Records Dec 2024. New music released on Sept 5th 2025. And next single to be released Nov 14. You can find us on all of the social media platforms. Come say hello!
