Grimus is a 6-piece alternative rock band from Cluj-Napoca.
Bogdan Mezofi’s vocal delivery combined with the driving bass and drums from Titus Vădan and Gabor Turi respectively, instantly invokes a comparison to Muse. But the guitar work from Vali Rauca and Cristian Csapo-Martinescu along with the keyboards from Lehel Kiss make you think Killers. The final recipe is a surprisingly refined sound of their own. Catchy songs, hooks in the right places, vocal angst, driving beats, yet all slightly brooding.
Grimus are handpicked to be part of the Central & Eastern European Talent Exchange Programme and play four major festivals: Rock For People (Czech Republic), Exit Festival (Serbia), Sziget Festival (Hungary) and B’estfest Summercamp (Romania).
They were the opening acts at stadium shows for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Placebo or Roxette and two stadium shows for legendary Queen in Bucharest and Sofia (Bulgaria).
Winning CEETEP, Grimus are automatically invited to perform at the largest European showcase festival, EuroSonic in Groningen, Italy’s Arezzo Wave and Austria’s Vienna Waves.
Three songs from Panikon were on the “Storia di un successo” soundtrack, a movie about the most successful Italian radio DJ, Marco Mazzoli. Their songs, such Ultima oara, Vom lupta, Culoare hit the top spot on RomTop, Romania’s only indie chart.
2018 - new album Unmanageable Species released on February 23rd to critical acclaim, featuring singles Carelessly and Piblokto.
