Gringlo is a an ambient folk-rock band from Northern Iceland. Their music varies from fast paced finger picking on various string instruments to floating melodies and vocal harmonies paired with heart centered lyrics inspired by the questions of life, human interaction and adventures far and wide.
The band started as a solo project by lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player <a href="spotify:artist:6SQxe8YT7KGCHQQss9FwBp" data-name="Ivan Mendez">Ivan Mendez</a> in 2015 when he entered the Icelandic battle of the bands"Músíktilraunir" armed only with his acoustic guitar, hopes of touching hearts.... and a cup of tea.
The project has grown since then and in the summer of 2016 Guðbjörn Hólm joined the band playing acoustic bass and singing backing vocals. Later that same year keyboardist Guðjón Jónsson on keyboards. Early this year the band grew even more when drummer/percussionist Arnar Freyr Scheving joined the team
In the beginning of this year the band released their first single "<a href="spotify:track:4YPEClaclwbqBByjcpDtRC" data-name="Light of New Day">Light of New Day</a>" along with a ambitious music video which can be found on the bands youtube page and also on Spotify.
During these two short years the band has grown and changed considerably but the main ambition remains the same......to push individual and collective human consciousness to higher levels through musical experience.
