Grit Boys

Championed by <a href="spotify:artist:0k7Xl1pqI3tu8sSEjo5oEg">Paul Wall</a> and named by the late rapper <a href="spotify:artist:4LrhGO12fXPf1SCL0FTbTl">HAWK</a>, Grit Boys are a hardcore crew from Houston, TX. Members <a href="spotify:artist:09nKmW6Q63qeQU2WfHZcNw">Poppy</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3Cvbit8MuKHqy0IpUNAnuE">Scooby</a>, and Unique met while attending Houston's Worthing High School. After an appearance on <a href="spotify:artist:2AT9sg0RsOjLd4gfu08Pg6">Lil O</a>'s 2000 album Da Fat Rat wit da Cheeze, the group began working closely with <a href="spotify:artist:4LrhGO12fXPf1SCL0FTbTl">HAWK</a>, landing on nearly all of his mixtapes. When <a href="spotify:artist:4LrhGO12fXPf1SCL0FTbTl">HAWK</a> passed in 2006, <a href="spotify:artist:0k7Xl1pqI3tu8sSEjo5oEg">Paul Wall</a> stepped in and featured the crew on his mixtapes On the Grind and G-Boy Fresh, the latter with <a href="spotify:artist:7xZeKNfo16bYxvEcnDBjuF">DJ Smallz</a>. In 2007 they hit the mixtape circuit one more time with their own The Hood's Last Hope.
