Guiss Guiss Bou Bess, straight from Dakar, has created a unique hybrid universe: electro Sabar. The bubbling working-class neighbourhoods of the Senegalese capital are their laboratory, the place where ambiences are captured, where drums are recorded and beats are made. Constantly conquering new territories, the Franco- Senegalese trio overflows with a diluted eclecticism and goes beyond the codes with urban sounds, furious beats and powerful percussions. A perfect fusion of deep bass beats and the ancestral music of the Wolof griots.
They have performed at concerts and festivals throughout Europe, Africa and Latin America, including Sziget 2022 (Hungary), Paleo Festival 2022 (Switzerland), Trans Musicales 2019 (featured artist), Atlantic Music Expo 2019 (Cape Verde), Kehinde Wiley’s Black Rock (Senegal), Cervantino Festival 2023 (Mexico), Or Circul'art 2023 (Colombia), amongst others.
With a strong representation of contemporary Africa, the group promises intense turbulence in their new creation to come in 2024!
