The truculent throne of brutal death metal was brought to Mumbai, India in 2007. Gutslit are credited with planting the sordid seed of the genre in the country. From the first time the onerous band took to the stage, they have delivered nothing short of mayhem. Their savage live performances and ravenous riffage have sound tracked every headbanger’s life in India.
Gurdip Singh Narang (bass), Aaron Pinto (drums), Aditya Barve (vocals) and Prateek Rajagopal (guitars) are the four bladed devil scythe that is Gutslit. Since their 2009 EP Contorted Mutilation, they have aggressively sliced through the mainstream to create a coveted fan following, almost instantly. In 2013, they created one of the most critically acclaimed albums in death metal this country has heard. <a href="spotify:album:5xxNIqeIc4N2HIgn9x1Xtu" data-name="Skewered In The Sewer">Skewered In The Sewer</a> became a fan favourite. Extreme vocals, crushing riffs and obliterating drum grooves followed in their 2017 album <a href="spotify:track:3r1vDn0Rn5KUKHVC2ZWXWW" data-name="Amputheatre">Amputheatre</a>. Kaushal from <a href="spotify:artist:03YBPg1p1xLExvdTPQeK1r" data-name="Godless">Godless</a> took up vocal duties on this album. In 2019, Gutslit accompanied death metal behemoths <a href="spotify:artist:2DqzOWVL2ly48IA9bpZdie" data-name="Dying Fetus">Dying Fetus</a> on their European Tour-decimating audiences with their synergy. Followers turned into an army of annihilation.
For their 2023 release CARNAL, they team up with legendary sound engineer Mark Lewis (<a href="spotify:artist:0yLwGBQiBqhXOvmTfH2A7n" data-name="Cannibal Corpse">Cannibal Corpse</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3v3VSKylQE69ztn5TUVlFE" data-name="Nile">Nile</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2K3GorTixXKAiwe2t9lO89" data-name="Deicide">Deicide</a>). <a href="spotify:album:266JjjdZ5a2TFuOxWDqzkf" data-name="Matriarch">Matriarch</a>, their single from CARNAL, released on 18th May 2023. On July 7th, 2023, blood will boil and heads will roll with the release of their most ambitious, brutal and hardcore project yet. Prepare for devastation!
