HALFDANSKERNE is a danish folk trio. Their musical and comical show is a popular live experience all around the small country, as well as on international scenes. They play the traditional music with lyrics by some of the most well-known and loved danish poets like Halfdan Rasmussen and Benny Andersen, and on their latest album "Alt hvad du længes mod" ("All that you are longing for") they have composed some of the tunes themselves. Mads Westfall on guitar and vocal, Lars Grand on accordion and vocals and Rasmus Vennevold on double bass have played and worked together since 2008. They have made several succesfull shows like "Something about a poet - a tribute to Halfdan Rasmussen" (2015), "The greatest songs" (2016-2017) and "10 years anniversary show" (2018), and they have released 5 albums, the 2 latest on the well-known danish label "Exlibris". If you want to experience the traditional and well-written danish treasure of songs in a modern and vibrant way, you should definately hire the "Half-danes" (as you may express Halfdanskerne in english - actually they are fullblown danes, and their band is named after the danish national poet Halfdan Rasmussen). Halfdanskerne perform the songs in danish - and the rest of the show when in Denmark. On the cruise-ships and other international venue they make the presentations and the comical parts of the show in english, and that makes for a great experience of danish folklore.
