Easily one of the most successful bluegrass bands to come out of New Zealand, the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band formed in 1966 under the name the Muleskinners. They released a first album in 1967, and went on, with various lineups, to release a half dozen or so more, and at one time were actually signed to RCA Records. The group relocated to Australia in 1971 and toured the United States in 1972 before eventually disbanding in 1975, with a final album appearing in 1978. The band re-formed in 1994, released a new album, Encore, in 1997, and continued on in this second phase, releasing two albums in 2008, The Tavern Revisited and Way Down South. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
