Hands of Light

Lars Vognstrup’s is a well-known name on the Danish music scene. Starting out as the singer of metal band <a href="spotify:artist:4IE8lT02HoEygu1flFQB7m" data-name="Raunchy">Raunchy</a>, he went on perform with Crunchy Frog label mates <a href="spotify:artist:7xNPROyVfkH4mcIxxCxySm" data-name="Junior Senior">Junior Senior</a> in the early 00’s with whom he toured the world for a few years. During this period, he formed the band <a href="spotify:artist:0u1n2o7UKADDVIesQBM4ON" data-name="Wolfkin">Wolfkin</a> with Christian Gotfredsen. Their debut album Brand New Pants made waves in Scandinavia, USA, Germany, Iceland, Finland, Switzerland and Austria. Later, Vognstrup moved to LA, DJ’d, and even had a brief stint as the live guitarist in Ryan Gosling’s band <a href="spotify:artist:66uU7VPJQ8eC06LAZyqYYk" data-name="Dead Man's Bones">Dead Man's Bones</a>. Vognstrup’s time in LA also made for a particularly fruitful period of songwriting so when he returned to Denmark, he formed the band <a href="spotify:artist:5Cezj6HccSUXqr5FnDixum" data-name="Lars and The Hands of Light">Lars and The Hands of Light</a> – his first as a front man with his own material. In <a href="spotify:artist:5Cezj6HccSUXqr5FnDixum" data-name="Lars and The Hands of Light">Lars and The Hands of Light</a> a 60’s, summery vibe saturated the band’s sound. Here, with Hands of Light, Vognstrup has moved towards a more freeform, 80’s and 00’s sound.
