Harley Eblen is a Cellist, String Arranger, Producer, and Singer-Songwriter creating Sad Songs for Hopeful People.
He’s had a lifelong obsession with understanding what makes music so impactful. Growing up in Hawai’i, that meant looking for answers in recordings ranging from classical to pop, playing in the youth symphony, going to celtic and bluegrass jam sessions, and performing with a Hawaiian singer songwriter.
Through battles with depression, he found that the most powerful tool to navigate challenges in life was music. Since then he’s spent his time somehow involved in the process of creating songs that give meaning to things that can otherwise feel meaningless.
When he’s not writing and producing original music, you can find him arranging and recording strings for other artists and producers in his home studio in the trees of Ashland, Oregon.
