Hartly grew up between the two worlds of Baltimore and Mt. Vernon, New York. His love affair with music and the spoken word began during weekend drives with his uncle. Spurred by the works of Wu-Tang, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G, and his grand uncle jazz musician Thelonious Monk., Hartly began writing music in his early teenage years.

Currently Hartly works for Young Money/Cash Money Billionaires directly under Ronald “Slim” Williams. And, While the artist is working for one of the hottest labels in hip hop, he’s opting to release this particular project independently.
