Scandinavian indie-pop four-piece Hater end a three-year hiatus following their formidable third album Sincere with the release of Mosquito. The Malmö-based band sound rejuvenated — creating a mix between the raw indie-pop energy they’ve become known for with a more direct, polished approach to songwriting. Hater refine their shoegaze roots into something sharper, more melodic and deeply resonant. The album overflows with stories where mythical twists (vampires, Cupid, mosquitos) are underpinned by a sad-eyed yearning for true love.

Emerging with early favourites Red Blinders and Siesta, the band quickly became one of Sweden’s most exciting new acts, earning praise from NPR, Stereogum, Bandcamp, BBC 6 Music and US college radio. They’ve toured extensively across Europe, performing at arenas and concert halls with Ben Howard, and appearing at festivals including SXSW, End Of The Road, Eurosonic, Ment, Roskilde and Sea Change.

Hater are Caroline Landahl, Måns Leonartsson, Adam Agace and Rasmus Andersson.
