South London-based singer-songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:1pF7MBCsSMm2FmLCzX9358" data-name="Havva">Havva</a> needs little introduction. You’ll feel her vibe before she enters the room, and you will travel through her emotions when you listen to her cleverly orchestrated and lyrically intense songs.
Havva’s first big step into the music scene was via the British-made movie Brash Young Turks. She was the lead singer alongside grime legend D Double E on the theme tune for the film that later went on to win a VMA award.
A story teller through her cleverly composed lyrics she has written for many artists and continues with her intention of speaking through music to the world. Her latest track 2020 encompasses the events and experiences of the worldwide pandemic transposed into a visual story told with heartbreak and love.
Never having attended a music school and having lived on the streets in her teens, she has paved her way with few resources and continues to represent the struggle artists endure on their journey to success.
"The only way out of darkness is through expression. Whether that is through music, art, sport or dance, we tell stories of pain with our talent. You have to stay hungry to survive in this world of creativity. I always live by the saying in darkness you were formed and in darkness you will be reborn.
