Headworm is the San Diego-based project of Fausto Martinez, blending psych rock, post-punk, and lo-fi experimentation into a sound that’s hazy, heavy, and always shifting. Formed after the breakup of Pueblo in 2018, Headworm grew from solo recordings into a full live band by 2021. Longtime collaborator Andres Rubio and drummer Edgar Alejandre (of Egg Records) help shape the live sound: raw, immersive, and unpredictable. Influences like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Have a Nice Life, Oh Sees, and CAN echo through layered guitars, warped rhythms, and DIY grit.
