Of her debut album, Lush Life, “This is a very accomplished and warmly recommended debut album by a singer whose reputation must surely spread internationally,” said Bruce Crowther, UK Jazz Journal reviewer and author of “Singing Jazz: The Singers and their Styles”.
“…the performance throughout the album is marvellously clean and the music itself can only be called luminous.” said Jean Keith Fagon, The Jazz Project, Hill Rag, Washington D.C.
“You can hear it in her beautiful phrasing and in her engaging, confident, generous, insightful and passionate performance”, said Sharna Searle in Toronto’s, The Whole Note
More than a decade in the making, Heather Ferguson is now recording and performing with some of Victoria’s most accomplished jazz musicians. Her daily life is filled with joy and a lot of music.
Music is a lifelong passion she didn’t ever think would happen for her. But later in life the stars aligned, “I am an incurable, lifelong learner”, says Heather, “and with music I just find the work gets more interesting the deeper you go.” Now she is bringing her own songs and experiences to performance.
Her second album, FOUND, releases April 25, 2025 with arrangements and co-writes with Attila Fias - and great arrangements of jazz standards with Dr. Tony Genge. And all recorded with the fabulous musicians she works with regularly at Victoria’s 1Ton Studio.
