Heleen received 4-5 star reviews for her albums, most of them packed with originals. She has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival and other fine stages and congresses in over 15 countries. Much of her songwriting is inspired by humans' intimate relations with nature. Her album Rush in the Woods is rooted in her travels to the tropical forests, Blue Lifeblood in her fascination for powerful water sources. Her newest album Sapiens Unlimited is born out of fascination for the origins of human nature itself, and - for the first time- taps into art rock idiom. After the Gorging Gene and two other singles, the 44-minute album Sapiens Unlimited appeared digitally on December 19th 2024. Beside her own work she is also highly appreciated for her interpretation of iconic songs such as Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now, Todd Rundgren's Pretending to Care. Called “ a hidden gem” by one of them, reviewers wish her a wider audience. To remain in touch with Heleen about her work: https://www.heleenvandenhombergh.com
