Helicon was formed by brothers John-Paul and Gary Hughes in East Kilbride, Glasgow. Their sound blends psychedelia, electronica, guitars and sitars with a spirit of counter-cultural experimentation. Since signing to Fuzz Club in 2017, their music has featured on BBC Radio 6 Music, and they’ve previously collaborated with Tony Doogan (<a href="spotify:artist:34UhPkLbtFKRq3nmfFgejG" data-name="Mogwai">Mogwai</a>), Will Carruthers (<a href="spotify:artist:1ZOlVrZ2MtNSY9LcFYklDB" data-name="Spacemen 3">Spacemen 3</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:30uiS1n3uIGXJEYFR1GVDy" data-name="The Brian Jonestown Massacre">The Brian Jonestown Massacre</a>, Spiritualized, Dead Skeletons), Mark Gardener (<a href="spotify:artist:0WPY9nnBy01s5QOt4o4oQX" data-name="Ride">Ride</a>) and LA-based DJ/producer <a href="spotify:artist:2rVYWIbqIKx8d6hN4owg4A" data-name="Al Lover">Al Lover</a>.
Their 4th studio album, ARISE, a collaboration with AL Lover, is out Friday 13th February 2026, on Fuzz Club.
