Herbert Midgley

Herbert Midgley has been an active composer for over the last two decades. He has composed numerous compositions during both his professional and collegiate career including one symphony, twelve original works for band, and other large form compositions. Mr. Midgley has also written a great number of chamber works, including quartets and quintets for wind and string instruments, solo piano works, and solo works for many other instruments. As a classical guitarist, Mr. Midgley has composed over 200 studies for classical guitar over the last twenty years.

For more than three decades, Mr. Midgley has been working closely with M.I.D.I. technology. He is an expert on Macintosh computers and music software and has instructed many students in the use of computer technology in music, including both music notation, sequencing, and CAI software. Mr. Midgley has presented many music technology sessions at various conferences all over Texas, including T.M.E.A. and T.I.M.E.

Mr. Midgley teaches the popular class, The History of Rock and Roll to hundreds of students a semester, over the years he has taught over 12,000 students! He shares his love of rock music with them. He plays live in East Texas most weekends, and plays the crowd favorites "I'm a Nerd" and "Sweater Girl".

His new CD, Music Of Midgley - The Internet Legend has been released in August of 2020. He recorded some of fan favorites, new songs, and many instrumentals. Computed!
