There are songs made to keep you standing, and songs written to make you fall. Hermetic Delight oscillates between the two. A pop that hits as much as it embraces, where the tension of the guitars flirts with the release of the melodic textures.
And then there are those synths, blurring the lines between cold flashes and glowing mirages. The band plays with genre boundaries, using sharp guitars, instinctive rhythms, and a magnetic voice to hold it all together.
The group was born around Zeynep Kaya, a singer from the punk and feminist circles of Ankara, who came to France to explore lyrical, jazz, and improvised music, Delphine Padilla, a drummer and performer with a background in dance, and Atef Aouadhi, a self-taught musician who also distinguished himself as a bassist with Crocodiles or with Harry Howard.
In 2020, the band released F.A. Cult, an album sung in French, Turkish, and English, that was praised by the press (Rolling Stone, Rock & Folk, Magic…). The album marked a turning point for the band, embracing a genre-defying approach that blended hypnotic rhythms with melodic clarity and delicate textures, balancing intensity with dreamlike moments.
Hermetic Delight returns in 2025 with a new album : Vagabond Melodies.
