Hidden Speaker rose from the remnants of Austin's Springhill Mine Disaster. Their first two releases, "The Brittle Stars" and "The May Collection EP" were recorded and mixed in Austin, TX by John Croslin (Spoon, The Reivers) with additional tracks recorded and mixed in Memphis, TN by Doug Easley, Davis McCain (Pavement, Sonic Youth) and Stuart Sikes (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The White Stripes). They disbanded in the early 2000's but the project was revived in 2013 with the release of their new album "Wet Recluse."

Members include (or have included) Evan Dickson, Josh Lambert, Yvonne Lambert, Toto Miranda, Nik Snell, Tripp Wiggins, Marc Fort, Erik Bogle and Jay Crossley.
