Hien is a Budapest-born Vietnamese singer, producer, and sound designer based in Brooklyn. Blending soulful vocals with ethereal electronic textures, she creates left-field pop that blurs cultural boundaries and draws from a lifetime of navigating multiple homelands, languages, and artistic traditions.
Growing up, Hien learned Hungarian folk songs in school, and also listened to her grandparents—who were cải lương musicians—perform traditional Vietnamese music in Hà Nội. Later, she honed her craft at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, broadening her musical horizons.
Her versatility has taken her to stages across Europe, Asia, and the United States, as well as starring roles in musicals like Miss Saigon, SIX and Frozen. She's been named one of Glamour’s “Women of the Year,” listed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, and showcased at SXSW festival. Her latest EP, Bloom (2021), was funded by the New York Foundation for the Arts and received support from Nowness Asia, Billboard Indonesia, and Ones to Watch, further establishing her as a rising voice in the global arts scene.
