Hot Apartment was born out of the longtime friendship of Michael Coale Grey and Brian Riemer (aka Beeriems). The duo met while overlapping for a single year in college in Hartford, CT and stayed in touch while living in different areas of the country for years. In 2023, they both coincidentally ended up moving to LA and started making music in Grey’s in-home studio. They first recorded a cover of “She’s So High” by Tal Bachman to be used as the credits song for Grey’s short film, Weed the People: A Stoner Fantasia on National Themes. Their first single, “We Need to Talk”, is out August 6, 2025, with an EP in the works.
